World eX Summit at the BILSTER BERG
The “great little” racing series chose the BILSTER BERG for its restart: the B2B networking event “World eX Summit” took place from 12 to 14 August. The BILSTER BERG, which has been a partner of the RCCO (Racing Concept Cars Organisation) since 2015, was the venue for the World eX Summit and the 24-hour race #RCCO24 for the first time this year.
The champions of the RCCO season were thus crowned on a single weekend before the “great little” racing series is scheduled to return to normal operations in 2023. The #RCCO24 was the season highlight of the RCCO series.
The RCCO is a unique networking platform and the most popular slot car racing series in the world, combining 1:24 scale slot car racing with real motorsport as well as the automotive industry. The “great little” RCCO racing series has been bringing electric mobility to life for over 30 years. Interesting people deliver spectacular races and discuss the mobility of the future and possibilities of CO2 reduction.
Within the RCCO, the idea arose to create a separate vehicle category. This was realised with the project “Vision RCCO – Driving The Future”. Vision RCCO offers different-looking electric concept cars and maximum equality of opportunity in the races. At the same time, the project enables future-oriented companies to test and promote innovations on a small scale.
But Vision RCCO went one step further and is the basis for the World eX Championship. The concept of Vision RCCO was transferred to the virtual world of Esports Racing to create unique virtual experiences and to bring emission-free mobility closer. The World eX Championship will feature popular teams and drivers from real and virtual motorsport. The “little sister” of the World eX Championship is the World eX Bizz and is primarily intended for networking for hobby racers.
In addition to the #RCCO24, visitors to the World eX Summit had the opportunity to experience an emission-free motorsport experience. Consisting of demo rides, rides in an Audi RS e-tron GT race taxi, the latest electric karts, racing simulators and a slot race track. But lectures and interviews were also part of the World eX Summit. Four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel was a guest speaker and spoke, for example, about the future of motorsport, sustainable solutions and technical innovations in Formula 1.
Saturday evening closed with a big BBQ on the terrace of the clubhouse, live music and a bonfire in front of the clubhouse.
