More than just a circuit – product photography at the BILSTER BERG

When you think of the BILSTER BERG, the first thing that comes to mind is the circuit and lots of driving fun. However, the area of the BILSTER BERG offers much more. Both the Ostschleifenterrasse with the TURN ONE restaurant and the clubhouse on the Westschleife invite you to relax and enjoy yourself in a variety of locations.

The creative agency HafenRaum, specialised in holistic communication in interior design, real estate and gastronomy sectors, recognised exactly that. For its clients IKONO and kyuno, HafenRaum decided to photograph a product selection at the BILSTER BERG. Because a product can be as good as it is – if it is not presented in an appealing way, it will hardly be possible to communicate this to anyone.

Pei Hua Yip is the owner of HafenRaum and explains how the decision for the BILSTER BERG came about: “The spacious clubhouse with its view of the circuit and the off-road course was the perfect place for us to present the IKONO and kyuno brands. We particularly liked the unique architecture, the spacious, light-flooded rooms and the appealing outdoor area. This ambience perfectly matched the furniture and interior design concept of the two brands.”

The fact that there is a lot of work behind an unusual product shoot is not obvious in most of the pictures and videos later on. After all, the photographs themselves are usually not that elaborate. Rather, the exact placement of furniture, the decoration and the millimetre-precise preparation of the individual settings cost time, patience and precision. “Every little detail has to be taken into account, otherwise you get annoyed afterwards,” explains Pei Hua Yip. “This time, the big challenge was to present both brands independently and to pay attention to the individual brand styles and their special features during the shoot. When everything is in full swing, details tend to get lost without preparatory work.”

The extensive grounds of the BILSTER BERG offer almost limitless possibilities for photo and film shoots of all kinds, as well as for conferences and business events. Thanks to the creativity of all team members, additional image ideas were spontaneously implemented in addition to the set motifs during this product shoot. In front of the adjacent off-road course, an outdoor lounge system was set up and captured on film with passing off-road vehicles. Driving itself does not always have to be in the foreground. The symbiosis of driving modules and spaces opens up completely new possibilities at the BILSTER BERG.
